Anthony C.
Beall
Anthony C. Beall, MD, is an anesthesiologist practicing at Trident Health System in Charleston, SC . He completed his residency and medical school training at the Medical University of SC and received his BS in Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina. He is currently working with Trident Anesthesia Group where he has served as past president and a member of the hospital Board of Trustees. Dr. Beall has also served on the South Carolina State Board of Medical Examiners. Since his son's diagnosis of Crohn's disease and successful management with nutrition, he has become an advocate for nutrition, serving as a speaker for Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) programs in which nutrition plays a central role.
Chris K.
Madsen
Chris Madsen, a Danish national, holds a Master's degree in Engineering from Princeton University in Princeton, USA. His undergraduate degree is in Mathematics and Economics. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Chartered Financial Analyst.
His career spans several countries, working first in New York as an actuary and principal for a global consulting company and reinsurers and then in Denmark. In 2007, he joined Aegon in the Netherlands and became Chairman & CEO of Blue Square Re, Aegon's internal reinsurer he co-started. In 2019, he became the Head of the Global Underwriting Center at Aegon. He has served on various insurtech boards and also served on EIOPA's Expert Group on Digital Ethics from 2019 to 2021. An avid proponent of integrating wellness into insurance solutions, he has been the driver behind initiatives linking healthy behaviours to insurance solutions. He has published numerous articles on capital management, longevity and insurance solutions and is a frequent speaker on these topics and related developments.
Chris lives in the Netherlands with his wife and three kids. In his spare time, he enjoys running and tennis as well as various volunteer activities.
Bridgette
Blankenship
Bridgette currently works in the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Patient Support Services. Prior to this, she worked for seven years in colon cancer research at MUSC. She also has a background in Family Therapy. A family member's diagnosis prompted her interest in IBD. Having a life-long passion and interest in nutrition and maintaining a healthy diet helped when looking for solutions to this diagnosis. Favorite hobbies are reading, cooking, and spending time with family.
Julie
Fekete
Julie Fekete is an associate attorney with Gordon & Rees and is a member of the commercial litigation practice group. She graduated magna cum laude from the Charleston School of Law and has an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from Michigan State University. Her son has been successfully managing his Crohn's disease using nutritional therapy since his diagnosis at age 10 and she is passionate about making success stories like theirs known to other patients and healthcare professionals.
