Ingredients
2 large apples
½ cups walnuts (or other nuts)
5 eggs, separated (may also be made without separating eggs)
¼ cup honey
1 TBSP lemon juice
1 TBSP lemon rind

Instructions
- Pare, core, and slice apples.
- Line bottom of greased pan with apples.
- Beat yolks until light and frothy.
- Add honey, nuts, and salt.
- Add lemon juice and rind.
- Fold in egg whites.
- Pour over apples.
- Bake for 30 minutes in hot oven (at least 350°F [175°C] ).
