Ingredients

7 medium-sized organic apples

⅓ cup honey

2 TBSP butter

2 tsp cinnamon

1⅓ cups walnuts

1⅓ cups almonds

1 cup raisins

1 lemon (juice)

1 tsp water

vanilla

1-2 finely sliced apples (topping)

½ cup chopped walnuts (topping)

½ cup blanched and finely sliced almonds (topping)

thin coconut slices (topping)

cinnamon (topping)

4-5 cups almond flour

7 TBSP butter

1 egg

1 tsp water

¼-⅓ cups honey

pinch of salt

80 ml (113 grams) honey

2 TBSP (30 ml) butter

2 tsp (10 ml) cinnamon

150 grams walnuts

150 grams almonds

150 grams raisins

1 lemon (juice)

1 tsp (5 ml) water

vanilla

1-2 finely sliced apples (topping)

50 grams chopped walnuts (topping)

50 grams blanched and finely sliced almonds (topping)

thin coconut slices (topping)

cinnamon (topping)

ingredients

400-500 grams almond flour

100 grams butter

1 egg

1 tsp (5 ml) water

60-80 ml (85-113 grams) honey

pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Peel and core apples.
  • Cut in slices.
  • Add all filling ingredients in a heavy duty pot (apples, honey, butter, cinnamon, walnuts, almonds, raisins, lemon juice, water, vanilla).
  • Cook approximately 10 minutes or until apples are a bit soft and filling is not wet.
  • Add filling to pie crust.
  • Decorate filling by topping with the uncooked apples on top to form a round design.
  • Cover the edges of the pie crust with aluminum foil to prevent burning.
  • Bake in a slow oven 305-320°F (150-160°Celsius) for approximately 30-40 minutes.
  • Keep your eye on the oven as the dough can burn.
  • Approximately 5 minutes before the pie is ready, decorate with walnuts, almonds, coconut slices and cinnamon.
  • Return to oven until nicely brown.

instructions

  • Combine dough ingredients in a bowl.
  • Mix until the dough is not sticky and dry enough to work with.
  • If necessary, add more almond flour.
  • Place dough in fridge or freezer for approximately 15 minutes to ½ an hour.
  • Pat dough into round pie form.
