Ingredients

5 cups water

3 cups almond milk (no additives) -or extra water

1½ cup steel-cut oats

2 mashed bananas

1½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp freshly grated nutmeg

½ tsp kosher salt

Toppings of choice (cinnamon, honey, soy/almond milk, slivered almonds, walnuts, almond or peanut butter, banana, apple,berries etc.)*

717 ml almond milk (no additives) - or extra water

240 grams steel-cut oats

2 mashed bananas

1½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp freshly grated nutmeg

½ tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Add the water, almond milk (or extra water), mashed banans, spices and the steel-cut oats to the slowcooker or crockpot and stir until combined.
  2. Put on the lid, and set to low- setting.
  3. Let sit for up to 6 hours or overnight, no need to stir until ready to eat breakfast the following morning!
  4. Eat as is for IBD-AID phase 1 or add toppings - this will make it IBD-AID Phase 3.
  5. Saves in the fridge for about a week.

Notes

If you don’t own a slow cooker, you can, of course, still make steel-cut oatmeal. Cook on very low heat until the oats are soft, this might take an hour or more.
