Ingredients

1 large onion, finely chopped

1 TBSP butter

3 lbs ground turkey

1½ cups SCD bread crumbs (see Related Recipes and Notes)

1½ cups [homemade] chunky applesauce (see Related Recipes)

3 eggs, beaten

1 TBSP chopped parsley

½ tsp pepper

1 TBSP plain mustard

¼ cup homemade SCD ketchup - optional (see Related Recipes)

1361 grams ground turkey

225 gram SCD bread crumbs (see Related Recipes and Notes)

355 ml [homemade] chunky applesauce (see Related Recipes)

3 eggs, beaten

1 TBSP (15 ml) chopped parsley

½ tsp (2.5 ml) pepper

1 TBSP (15 ml) plain mustard

59 ml homemade SCD ketchup - optional (see Related Recipes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C)
  2. Sauté onion in butter until soft.
  3. Mix all ingredients except for the ketchup together.
  4. Form into a loaf and place in a glass baking pan or greased loaf pan.
  5. Spread the ketchup on top (optional)
  6. Bake one hour.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it stand for 15 minutes before serving.
  8. Cuts better when cooled some.

Notes

Instead of bread crumbs you can also toast a similar amount of almond flour in a dry frying pan with a little bit of salt and onion and/or garlic powder.
